Parallax scrolling! I'm a bit late to this particular party, it seems, judging by the dozens of parallax scrolling sites that have hit the web in the past year.

Anyway, I haven't made anything here so complex or complete as Stevan Živadinović's Hobo Lobo — Be sure to check out his how-to article on .net magazine — but it was a fun little project, and a good challenge for a beginner like me.

All images go inside a div with the class "scroll_para" so they can be pulled by the script. The script then fixes a specific height to each scroll_para div so the elements inside it can scroll around freely

A Quartz Composer sketch that releases a single pixel off into the wild, letting it careen around the screen while a trail is left behind. This is an update of an old sketch, rewritten from scratch for better speed and accuracy. I've also added a presentation overlay, so I can change the visuals without messing up the underlying collision-detection scheme.
